Patrick McMahon Glynn was born in Ireland in 1855, and educated at Trinity College, Dublin. He arrived in Australia in 1880. From 1887-1889 he was the M.P. for Light; in 1895 and again in 1897 he was elected M.P. for North Adelaide. In 1899 he became Attorney-General. He was elected for South Australia to the first House of Representatives in 1901, and in 1903 for the district of Angas, which he represented until the general elections in 1919.
